What’s Shakin’ Edmond?

On February 28, 2015 at the MAC in Mitch Park, the Edmond Neighborhood Alliance will be hosting the 2015 Edmond Neighborhood Summit. Kyle Murray Ph.D. topic “I Feel the Earth Move” will address recent earthquakes in Oklahoma from the geological perspective. Murray serves as a Hydrogeologist for the Oklahoma Geological Survey (OGS) and as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Oklahoma (OU).
 
The 21st Annual Neighborhood Summit will run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ADVISORY TASK FORCE--SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

The Edmond City Council is seeking volunteers to serve on a new short term task force. The Capital Improvement Advisory Task Force (CIATF) will be charged with identifying future long term capital improvement projects for the City of Edmond that could be funded by sales tax revenue. These projects include items such as new buildings, major road projects, etc.

DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SET TO HOST CERT TRAINING SESSION

The Edmond Department of Emergency Management will host a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training session during July. The course, conducted by the Oklahoma Department of Homeland Security, will be held from 8am-5pm on Saturday July 12th, 8am-5pm on Saturday, July 19th, and 8am-1pm on Saturday July 26th. The location is the Multi-Activity Center (MAC, 2733 Marilyn Williams Drive) off of Covel, between Santa Fe and Kelly. Participants must attend all three sessions to complete the course.

May 16, 2014 3 former mayors gain enough signatures for sign vote James Coburn The Edmond Sun The Edmond Sun Fri May 16, 2014, 04:03 PM CDT EDMOND — A petition attracted 1,109 signatures to put to the vote of the people whether the City of Edmond should eliminate allowing all future electronic sign requests in city limits, said attorney Randel Shadid. Shadid is one of three former mayors including Dan O’Neil and Saundra Naifeh who instigated the petition drive in April. The petition is a response to the City Council’s Jan. 13 vote to allow EMC signs in commercial zoning districts.
